The Prague-born soprano, Karolína Plicková, studied singing at the Prague Conservatory and opera, songs and oratorio at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg.

She is the winner of the international singing competition “European Song Contest” (2008), winner of the audience award from the Salzburg State Theater as “Most Popular Singer” (2011) and a finalist in the singing competition “Grandi Voci” in Salzburg (2023).

She was a long-time member of the ensemble at the Salzburg State Theater, where she portrayed various principal characters, e.g. Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, as Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”, as Pamina in “The Magic Flute”, the title role in Benedetto Marcello’s “Arianna” under the direction of Matthew Halls, as Ginevra in Handel’s “Ariodante” under the musical direction of Christian Curnyn, as Adina in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore”. , or Berenice in Vivaldi’s “Farnace.”

She also works as a concert singer with the “Amadeus Consort Salzburg”. She appears regularly in the “Smallest Opera House in Munich” , where she has already appeared as Rusalka, Die schöne Helena, Frau Luna or as Persephone in a new interpretation of the Orpheus legend inspired by Monteverdi, Gluck and Offenbach.

In 2017, Karolína Plicková made her UK debut at the Buxton Festival in the virtuoso role of Cinna in Mozart’s “Lucio Silla” conducted by Laurence Cummings.

In recent years she has appeared in Mozart’s “La clemenza di Tito” as Vittelia (2018) and in “Cosi fan tutte” as Fiordiligi (2019) at the Bad Aibling Opera Festival. In her homeland she made her role debut as “Iphigenie in Aulis” (“2018) by Ch.W.Gluck at the National Theater Ostau, and as “Alceste” at the Stadstheater Pilsen (2022).

In the summer of 2024 she will make her debut as Isabella in Wagner’s “Das Liebesverbot” at the Maxlrain Opera.
